Converse started distributing rubber at the beginning of the 20th century, and only a little later started making shoes that quicky became popular thanks to the All Star model. The basketball player Charles “Chuck” Taylor felt the major potential of the All Stars and helped to build a cult that is still a staple in American popculture.
