Vans Old Skool

An immortal legend with an iconic stripe - Vans Old Skool

There are few sneakers as versatile and iconic as the Vans Old Skool. Originally known as the "Style 36", this model first appeared in 1977 and changed the world of skateboarding and fashion forever. It was the first ever Vans model to feature the legendary side stripe - the so-called "Jazz Stripe" that every streetwear fan will recognise today. If you're looking for shoes that never go out of style and go with everything in your wardrobe, the Old Skool is a safe bet.

Durability tested by concrete and time

It's not just the design that makes the Vans Old Skool stand out, it's the construction. The combination of durable canvas and suede in the most stressed areas (toe and heel) ensures that the shoes can withstand the rigours of use - whether on the skateboard or in everyday walking around town. Of course, the iconic waffle-patterned rubber sole offers perfect grip and stability. A padded collar around the ankle then keeps you comfortable, even if you spend all day in them.

A versatile piece for your personal style

The Vans Old Skool is the definition of effortless style. They're the shoe for rebels, artists, skaters and minimalists alike. They look great with ripped jeans, but also with clean chinos or summer dresses. It's a piece that blurs the lines between generations and subcultures. Treat yourself to a shoe that made California culture history and become part of the Vans family. Because you can never go wrong with an Old Skool in your shoe closet.

Materials

UpperLeatherLeatherA traditional natural material obtained by processing animal skins, valued in the shoe and haberdashery industry for its inimitable combination of durability, breathability and aesthetics. Thanks to its unique fibrous structure, the leather is able to adapt perfectly to the anatomy of the human body, ensuring high user comfort. It is a "living" material that breathes naturally, absorbs moisture and acquires a characteristic patina over time. Depending on the processing method (smooth leather, suede, nubuck), it offers different degrees of resistance to external influences and different surface textures.
SoleWaferWafer(Waffle Sole) An absolute game-changer and one of the most significant patents in the history of sneakers. It all began in 1971 when Bill Bowerman (co-founder of Nike) poured rubber into his wife's waffle maker to create a sole that would provide perfect grip while remaining lightweight. The result is a distinctive grid pattern with raised square lugs. Today, the waffle sole is a symbol of retro running in the streetwear scene – it looks fantastic, is incredibly comfortable, and grips the asphalt like glue.

Review of colour Oatmeal/ Gum

The history of Vans sneakers is fascinating and full of interesting twists and turns. Vans was founded in 1966 as The Van Doren Rubber Company when Paul Van Doren and his partners opened the first shoe store in Anaheim, California. Vans boots were not designed for skateboarders, but for everyday customers who could choose from a variety of colors and designs. However, they soon became popular with local surfers and skaters who appreciated their comfort, durability and waffle sole that gave them better grip on the boards.

The first model Vans launched was the Authentic, which became an icon of skate culture. Ten years later came the Era, designed by famed skateboarder Tony Alva. These shoes had a padded collar and an improved sole for better stability. Other classic models were the Old Skool with the typical white stripe on the side, the Sk8-Hi with a high ankle section and the Slip-on with a simple laceless design. These shoes became part of subcultures such as punk, hardcore, grunge and others.

Vans emerged from financial difficulties during the 1980s and began to expand into other areas such as snowboarding, BMX, motocross and music. Vans also collaborated with various artists, musicians, athletes and brands on limited edition shoes. Today, Vans shoes are popular among people of different styles, interests and generations. Vans maintains its original spirit and is always looking for new ways to reach out to its fans.
