Asics GT-2160

The Japanese brand Asics has grown from a running tradition, and the sneakers GT-2160 carry this history into the contemporary wardrobe. They are based on a technical running silhouette with a layered upper and a distinctly shaped sole, which today belongs to the most sought-after retro trends. In a clean white design, they appear fresh and effortless, allowing you to wear them from morning to evening and easily pair them with most outfits.

The upper combines breathable fabric with synthetic overlays, giving the shoe structure, durability, and the characteristic look of the "dad shoe" from the turn of the millennium. The low cut leaves the ankle free and allows for easy slipping on. The midsole features GEL cushioning, which softens each step and will be appreciated during long walks in the city. You can combine these sneakers with straight jeans, wide trousers, or cargo cuts, but they also pair well with shorts and an oversized t-shirt. The white color additionally allows for bolder pieces in your outfit. Asics was founded by Kihachiro Onitsuka in 1949 in Kobe, and the brand name derives from the Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," meaning a healthy spirit in a healthy body.

ASICS GT-2160

Running design from 2011 in modern street style - ASICS GT-2160

Originally introduced in 2011 as part of the award-winning stable of running shoes, the ASICS GT-2160 is back in fashion-lifestyle form. The design is based on the typical running silhouettes of the early 2010s - with a layered technical upper, dynamic lines and a distinctive "tech runner" style that fits perfectly into contemporary streetwear. A midsole with GEL™ technology in the heel provides soft cushioning and a smooth stride. Full-length Solyte™ foam adds lightness and responsiveness, and the Guidance Line™ promotes natural foot guidance. Rubber outsole with durable AHAR™ zones provides stability on urban surfaces.

TheASICS GT-2160 is perfect for technical retro running enthusiasts, fans of Y2K and 2010s trends, and anyone who wants a lightweight, comfortable and stylish pair for every day. Perfect for school, work, leisure and a day walking around town.

Team them with cargo pants, loose "parachute" pants or classic straight leg jeans for a tech-runner vibe. They also work perfectly with an oversized sweatshirt, lightweight softshell jacket or basic tee. For a minimalist urban look, try a monochromatic outfit - the GT-2160s will be a bold but clean fashion statement.

Materials

UpperTextileTextileTextile uppers are a lightweight and highly breathable upper construction solution that uses woven or knitted structures of natural and synthetic fibres. This type of upper is valued in the footwear industry for its extraordinary ability to adapt to the shape of the foot, minimising the formation of blisters and ensuring high user comfort. Thanks to the porous structure of the material, textile uppers allow for efficient heat and moisture dissipation, which is crucial for maintaining an optimal microclimate even under increased physical stress. In addition, modern textile processing technologies allow reinforcement zones to be integrated directly into the knit, achieving an ideal balance between stability and flexibility. / SyntheticsSyntheticsThe material of the upper includes a wide range of man-made fibres and laminates that are designed to overcome the limits of natural materials. The main advantages are low weight, high strength and fast drying ability. Modern synthetic materials are often developed with an emphasis on breathability and resistance to external influences such as moisture or mechanical damage. Thanks to their technological variability, they allow the production of specific textures and structures that provide the foot with the necessary support and flexibility while maintaining easy maintenance.
MidsoleGEL™GEL™Silicone gel technology in the midsole, developed in 1986. The gel inserts - located in both the heel and forefoot - effectively absorb shock, dissipate vibrations and ensure a smooth stride transition. The combination of GEL™ with foam layers promotes comfort, stability and natural movement.

Review of colour White/ Pure Silver

Asics is a brand that is based on the idea of "In a healthy body, a healthy spirit." Its name is an abbreviation of an old Latin saying. The first Asics shoes were made in 1949 by Japanese entrepreneur Kihachiro Onitsuka. His goal was to create quality shoes for athletes that would help them perform better. He used the Onitsuka Tiger logo on his shoes, which symbolized speed and strength. The logo became known worldwide when Olympic medalists like Abebe Bikila and Derek Clayton wore it.

Nowadays, Asics also offers streetwear shoes that feature great design and comfort. For example, the Asics Gel-Kayano 5 and Asics Gel-Kinsei models are popular for their stylish looks and Asics Gel cushioning technology, which uses gel insoles for better comfort and cushioning.

Asics also collaborated with designer Sean Wotherspoon on the Asics Gel-Lyte 3, which is an iconic model in the streetwear scene. You can find this model and many others at Queens in both men's and women's versions.
