Nike Cortez

Step into the women's sneakers Nike Cortez in a green variant and add a retro touch to your outfit that feels natural and effortless. The sleek silhouette featuring the Swoosh on the side retains the character of the seventies. It effortlessly integrates into your contemporary wardrobe, whether for a workday or a weekend in the city.

The upper is crafted from suede, which gives the sneakers a soft, velvety appearance and comfortably conforms to your foot with wear. The lightweight EVA foam midsole cushions each step, while the rubber outsole provides excellent grip on various surfaces. The low cut allows for freedom around the ankle, making these shoes suitable for straight jeans, wide trousers, or a midi skirt. The green hue will enliven neutral beige, white, or gray combinations. The Cortez model was designed by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman and was launched in 1972 as one of the brand's first running shoes. From its origins as a sports shoe, it has gradually become a classic that the American brand continues to introduce in new color variations.

Materials

UpperSuedeSuedeFine natural leather with a brushed finish that features a soft feel and elegant look. It offers good breathability and high wearing comfort, while gradually adapting to the shape of the foot. The material is both durable and flexible, ensuring comfort in everyday use. Suede is the ideal choice for footwear where the emphasis is on style, comfort and timeless design.
MidsoleEVAEVAPolymeric foam material valued for its exceptional lightness, flexibility and ability to absorb shock. In footwear construction, it is mainly used in midsoles, where it acts as a key cushioning layer protecting the musculoskeletal system from hard impacts. The material is made up of thousands of microscopic air bubbles that compress under load and then return to their original shape. EVA is also highly resistant to low temperatures, does not absorb water and is biologically inert, making it a safe and versatile material for sports and leisure footwear.
SoleRubberRubberIt is one of the most widely used materials for the production of soles due to its high mechanical resistance and durability. The main advantage of rubber soles is their excellent grip (traction) on different types of surfaces, which minimises the risk of slipping. The material is naturally flexible, waterproof and effectively absorbs shocks during walking. Depending on the compound, the rubber can be either soft for better contact with the ground or hard for maximum abrasion resistance on rough terrain.

Blue Ribbon Sports was the original name of the company we know today as Nike. The athletic footwear and apparel brand was renamed Nike in 1971, when it also introduced its famous logo, the Swoosh. The logo was designed by Carolyn Davidson, a student at the University of Portland, who was paid just two dollars an hour for her work (which would be about seven times that amount today).

Nike is best known for its innovative Air technology, which includes an air bubble in the sole. The first Nike models with this feature appeared on the market in 1987 under the name Nike Air Max 1. Their creator was Tinker Hatfield, who became an icon of sneaker culture. Today, Nike offers a wide selection of shoes with Air Max technology to ensure comfort and style.

Nike shoes today are a versatile choice for a variety of occasions and interests. Whether you're into sports, culture or fashion design, you'll find the right model for you among them. Nike clothing and shoes are not just sports, lifestyle or fashion, they are an expression of your personality and lifestyle. Nike is a brand that has become an icon and a symbol of quality, innovation and style in its half century of existence. Nike is a brand that is loved by millions of people around the world.
